The "Machine pour arrondir", used in our watch shop in XIX Century
The Hausmann & Co. collection counts historical watches and clocks as well as machines and spare parts once used in our Clock and Watch shop to create and to repair watches.
Before the industrialization of the watchmaking industry, all components were hand mande (and designed, of course!) both at the moment of the creation of the mechanism, or when it had to be repaired because of a damage. This is why such machines were needed by our watchmakers, able both to build brand new clocks and to repair clocks and watches.
The Machine pour Arrondir is a machine able to cut the tooth of the wheels, following the movement of the hand. You can check in the following video how it worked.
