ZENITH: tradition and innovation in the Swiss watchmaking
Zenith put down roots in Le Locle over 150 years ago, in 1865, the year when young Georges Favre-Jacot founded a watchmaker’s that was the only one of its kind, with the aim to create complete watches at a time when movement components were made by artisans working in various different locations.
Since its establishment, Zenith has consistently redefined the notions of precision and innovation, including the first Pilot Watch at the dawn of aviation and the first serially produced ElPrimero automatic chronograph calibre.
As a platform for original watchmaking innovation, Zenith Manufacturing features in-house developed and manufactured movements in all its watches, such as the DEFY Inventor with its monolithic oscillator of exceptional precision, and the DEFY El Primero 21 with its high frequency 1 100 th of a second chronograph.
Zenith works on new standards of performance and inspired design, shaping the future of Swiss watchmaking and accompanying those who dare to challenge time itself and reach for the stars.
