Luminor Panerai, little brother of the Radiomir
Panerai technical development, during Word War II, brought to many improvements on the Radiomir watch, to make it more suitable to the military hard use:
- A sandwich dial made it more readable and luminescent;
- horns joint to the case, more resistant to hits;
- bridge on top of the crown, to increase water resistancy;
- introduction of a new luminescent substance, the Luminor, to substitute the radio.
This is how the Radiomir became the Luminor.
