Special Editions celebrating Hausmann & Co.'s 230 years anniversary

On the occasion of Hausmann & Co.’s important milestone of 230 years anniversary, special editions celebrating the event and new partnerships with the Roman House were presented:

a unique piece of the URWERK UR-102 Reloaded Black watch, for the first time made with the dial in a luminous blue combined with the black PVD-treated steel case, with the engraving on the titanium case back “Pièce Unique” and the Hausmann & Co. logo flanked by the Roman numeral “CCXXX.” The URWERK UR-102 Reloaded Black is a watch with essential and contemporary geometries, featuring a digital time display visible through an arched window that opens on the round case, allowing the rotating hours and minutes disc to be viewed marking the time. Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei, URWERK’s founders, chose this watch to celebrate Hausmann & Co.’s 230th anniversary because it is an historical and identity model for the Brand (it is the first watch ever made by URWERK), whose characteristic digital time display is inspired by the “orologi notturni” (night watches) of the Campani brothers, who were working in Rome itself in the second half of the 17th century creating watches for Roman Popes and nobles. The clock is thus for URWERK a symbol of tradition and at the same time a tribute to Rome and its craft traditions.

a unique piece of Ludovic Ballouard’s Upside Down watch celebrates Hausmann & Co.’s 230th anniversary by integrating the numbers of this historic milestone within the rotating “3” hour disc, highlighted by a diamond set in the blue of the dial. The Upside Down is a handcrafted watch with a philosophical conception of digital hour displays: since the past cannot be relived and the future is unknown, the only significant hour that the watch can display is the current hour, and that is why it is the only numeral visible in the right direction; the other numerals are all flipped thanks to discrete rotating sub-dials, until the next hour strikes. The watch’s platinum case bears the hand-engraving by Master Watchmaker Ludovic Ballouard “Pièce Unique” together with the Hausmann & Co. logo.
